Predicting and mapping the flu by analyzing tweets

 

Researchers at the University of Rochester collected and analyzed tweets to predict the spread of the flu. From the article:

“their algorithm was able to predict whether a healthy person would get sick (and tweet about it) with 90 percent accuracy.”

Mapping Shakespeare

Andrejs Rauchut's thesis project at Cooper Union was a map of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. One example of Rauchut's work is a diagram of character movement through the ancient city of Ephesus.

All of the maps and diagrams he created were bound in a wooden box, which unfolds to support itself as a table.
